Who should receive Reiki?
Reiki can be received anywhere, anytime by anyone.
Reiki is the life force energy.
When this energy is concentrated, Reiki energy becomes a powerful force to help recover health and well being.
What is a Reiki Treatment?
Reiki treatments are for energy balancing.
There is no physical manipulation as in chiropractic, or invasive actions as in traditional Western medicine.
Reiki can also be called the “laying on of hands”.
Is Reiki a religion?
No. Faith and religion are not requirements for Reiki treatments
Many Reiki practitioners bring their own personal theology into their Reiki practice.
To receive a Reiki treatment all that is required to enjoy the experience.
Reiki is the Japanese word for "Universal Life"-Rei, and "Energy"-Ki.
Reiki is not confined to a specific religion, but forms of Reiki like healing is used by nearly all the world's faiths.
Reiki is practiced by faithful members of every major religion.
All faiths have words to describe the healing energy of Reiki.
Words like "Grace", "Holy Spirit" "Divine Light" "God's Healing Power" and many others.
Who uses Reiki?
A form of Reiki was first known in Tibet over 5000 years ago.
Since then, for centuries, people would take ill or injured people to church for the "Laying on of Hands"
performed by priests or special healers.
Reiki is completely natural and spontaneous.
If we hurts ourselves accidentally, our first impulse is to place our hands on the injured area to comfort ourselves.
During the Reiki treatment, the healer becomes a conduit for Universal Life Force, God’s Love and Healing Wisdom.
Reiki works with your body's own healing energy to make you well. Health and vitality is a natural state.
What is a Proximal (up close) Reiki Treatment?
Proximal means close, or nearby.
During this type of treatment the client and Reiki practitioner are physically close together and connect by touch.
Many clients prefer the warmth of the "Proximal" Reiki touch especially for serious physical and emotional problems.
A sense of well-being, relaxation and comfort, warmth from the Reiki touch.
Each treatment takes an hour.
During the Reiki treatment, the client relaxes on a padded massage table,
(or chair) while the Reiki practitioner lays their hands gently over their major energy centers.
These energy points correspond to the body chakras located at the crown of the head,
the forehead, the neck area, chest area, abdomen, knees and elbows, then finally the feet.

A Reiki treatment feels similar to the warmth and relaxation of lying in the sun on a beautiful beach, (without the sunburn)
Do I have to go somewhere to receive my Reiki Treatment?
Not at all. Reiki is energy. It can be sent over any distance.
Our bodies contain and are maintained by "electrical" energy.
Since Reiki works with this energy, our clients don't have to be physically present for the treatment to have a positive effect. Reiki energies are not limited to time or space. The healing and comforting effect occurs beautifully at a distance.
How can healing travel over distance?

Your cell phone, radio waves; energy doesn't have the restrictions that dense matter does.
Reiki moves through any barriers to help you recover your own natural energy, wellness and peace of mind.
Clients tell me "suddenly" they feel so much better as a result of my distance Reiki treatment.
Most of my personal Reiki practice is "distance" Reiki.
I'm always amazed by what my clients tell me they experience as a result of my treatments from many miles away.
Distance Reiki healing works best for many people.

Why are traditional Health Care providers interested in Reiki?
Traditional Western medicine has historically shown great reluctance to embrace "new age" treatments within their facilities. Accupuncture is an example of a procedure widely used in Asia, yet rarely seen in US hospitals.
Things are changing, and for a good reason.
Current medical diagnostic instruments like the EKG and the MRI measure "electrical impulses".
Reiki is also energy and can be measured. The hands of a Reiki practitioner "deliver" actual and measurable energy.

What happens when I receive a Reiki treatment?
Reiki treatments are relaxing, comforting, peaceful.
Most clients experiencing Reiki for the first time describe a feeling of gentle warmth,
relief from pain and immediate lessening of fear.
Can Reiki hurt me?
Because of it's nature, of "Love" Reiki can do no harm.
Reiki is a healing system that does only the best and most loving good for the client.
Will Reiki interfere with my medication or medical appliances?
Reiki is helpful for clients with pacemakers, on medications.
Reiki compliments chemotherapy, and all other forms of treatment.
Reiki is gentle and does not intrude or disrupt the body.
Were you trained to perform a Reiki Treatment?
Yes. I am a Reiki Master.
I am qualified to treat and to teach Reiki First Degree, Reiki Second Degree,
Reiki Advanced Degree, and Reiki Master to my students.
I was trained through the Miami Catholic Diocese and Indianapolis Episcopalian Church by Dr. Maureen Conroy, a Sister of Mercy, a Reiki Master and one of My Spiritual Direction Teachers, from The Upper Room, New Jersey.
