 WHAT IS CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY?

Clinical aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils for specific outcomes that are measurable.
These effects can occur at both psychological and physiological levels.
The choice of essential oil is often based on the chemistry of that essential oil
which in turn will indicate the safest method of use.

Clinical Aromatherapy: Essential Oils in Practice.
With over 1,000 references, this book is intended for health professionals
wanting an evidence-based text.
It is used by several universities and recommended by most schools teaching Clinical Aromatherapy.
The book includes in-depth chapters (which were all peer-reviewed by experts) on infection,
insomnia, chronic pain, nausea, stress management,
and use in specific clinical specialties such as cardiology, care of the elderly, critical care,
dermatology, endocrinology, hospice and end-of-life, immunology, OB/GYN,
oncology, pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory care.
The text builds on Buckle’s first book, Clinical Aromatherapy in Nursing which is out of print.
While written for nurses, the book is valuable for all health professionals,
including physicians, interested in using essential oils in a clinical setting.
 

I have completed the Taught Course on Clinical Aromatherapy and training in the ‘m’ technique®
for licensed health professionals.
This course conforms to the requirements for professional clinical training
and complies with standards established by The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA)
for levels 1 and 2.
 There is as yet no nationally recognized certification exam in the USA.


AROMATHERAPY, or "pure plant aromaology-therapy",
refers to those therapeutic essences and oils that are pure plant derivatives.
